Sharing their love for table tennis, Fred Perry have joined forces with acclaimed British-designer Nigel Cabourn for an inspired capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2015. Fred Perry first became World Champion of Table Tennis in 1929 before pursuing tennis, while Cabourn is a self-confessed fanatic. The collaboration celebrates both label’s UK manufacturing roots from the 1950s and 1970s respectively.
Known for his stylish outerwear and passion for vintage clothing, Nigel Cabourn takes a carefully approach to design, and references pieces from both his extensive vintage archive and the Fred Perry sportswear archive. The collection highlights are the Panelled 1952 Pique Shirt and the Pullover Head Sweat with half Riri zip and matching 1953 Training Paints. The outerwear includes a 3-button Blazer with horn button fastening and the Cameraman Windcheater Bomber that features navy colour-blocking and knit stripe ribs on the collar and cuffs. The collection also includes Table Tennis Shoe based on the design of an archive Fred Perry tennis footwear style.
