visvim – Product Introspection: ‘Handwork’

Aiming to eschew the antonymous nature of mass produced products, Japanese designer Hiroki Nakamura takes a unique standpoint whenever he designs, looking to the unique and the imperfect to make his customer standout.

Accordingly, Nakamura’s label visvim, has embarked on a new project which aims to highlight the essence of purity and beauty when something is crafted from hand. Aptly named Handwork, the project produces one-of-a-kind pieces, highlighting various hand-drawings and paint applications. These personal techniques have been applied to tees, button-downs and jackets.
