These are the boots before the Clarks Wallabee, originally design and build by Padmore & Barnes who have been manufacturing shoes since 1934 who whent by the name “P404”. Producing only 25,000 pairs of shoes per week in their Kilkenny based factory in Ireland all by hand, this brand was a small player.
The P204 silhouette from Padmore & Barnes was the first iconic style in their footwear range. The P204 was first introduced to the US market in the early 60s, and became an instant success. Soon after, buyers on the west coast of America began requesting a high-top version of the P204, and so the P404 silhouette came to fruition. During this period of time Padmore & Barnes went under the ownership of C&J Clarks. C&J Clarks saw the P204 & P404 silhouettes, renamed the shoe the Wallabee, and began manufacturing in the Padmore & Barnes factory in Kilkenny, Ireland.
For this season Foot patrol has giving their own flavor to this boot by lending inspiration from the 90’s hiphop culture, especially Wu Tang Clan member ‘Ghostface first album cover “Ironman”.
The Footpatrol for Padmore & Barnes Original Boot P404 pays tribute to the Ironman album cover, they’ve constructed two colourways. The first colourway is a nod to the Wu-Tang Clan logo, dressed in premium Yellow and Black coloured suede with Yellow stitch details throughout. The second colourway comes in a split-toe Red and Black suede colour with Red stitch details throughout. Smooth Tan coloured leather is used on the inner lining with a tonal coloured tumbled leather footbed. The lateral side of the leather inner lining reveals the words ‘Peep But Don’t Sleep The Crew’s Mad Deep’ in Metallic Gold. The left footbed heel features the Footpatrol Gasmask Coin graphic in Metallic Gold with the Padmore & Barnes branding sitting above. The right footbed heel features the Footpatrol Coin graphic with the words ‘Peep But Don’t Sleep The Crew’s Mad Deep’. Both colourways come with Black laces housed in a Black box.
